Billionaire Zell Sues

   In another twist to the ongoing Tribune Company bankruptcy case, a Sam Zell affiliate, EGI-TRB, filed suit Tuesday December 20, 2011, in Chicago's Cook County Circuit Court.  The suit alleges that a 2007 $8.2 billion dollar leverage buyout, that Zell himself was the architect of, was a fraudulent conveyance, meaning it left the owner companies including:  The Los Angele Times, KTLA Channel 5, The Chicago Tribune, and other media assets, insolvent from the start.  See also, http://www.chicagotribune.com/.
